Uncomfortable questions, no easy answers. Starting in July, a conversation about artificial intelligence and education between two people who have spent years studying these themes.
Once upon a time there was a puppet who wanted to cut his strings. Today we're building machines that are increasingly autonomous, and the question we can't shake is a different one: are we still the ones holding the strings?
This provocation is the starting point for Pinocchio's Artificial Intelligence, the new podcast produced by METID featuring Luca Mari (Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore) and Susanna Sancassani (Politecnico di Milano). The series draws on the book of the same name, published by Sole 24 Ore, in which the two authors explored the intersections between AI, learning, and the future of education. But the podcast goes further: it's a space for open conversation, where the questions matter more than the answers, and the best doubts are worth more than reassuring certainties.

From schools to universities, from the classroom to the lab: this podcast isn't aimed at tech experts, but at anyone grappling with artificial intelligence in their educational work — or simply in their own life.
What it's about
Each episode starts from an uncomfortable question and makes no promise of definitive answers. What it does promise is that you'll come away with a new idea and a better question. The episodes in the first series tackle topics such as:

Hosts
Luca Mari is a professor at Università Cattolica, where he teaches measurement science. His work focuses on information engineering and the culture of artificial intelligence.
Susanna Sancassani is director of METID — Methods and Innovative Technologies for Teaching — at Politecnico di Milano. She teaches Teaching Strategies and leads the university's institutional strategy on AI in education.
